Malacca River Side and D&L’s Nyonya Laksa

By On November 30, 2009 Under food, Photography, Travel

On the way walking to the next stop, Donald & Lily’s Nyonya Laksa, we passed by the Malacca river. It was such a peaceful moment. The moment only appeared a while. In later of the day, tourists had been flooding this historical state and spoilt the peacefulness.

Since we were still full, our footsteps were slightly slow a bit. We were taking our sweet time having photo shooting at the river side.

The Donald & Lily’s shop was a very typical Nyonya style shop house located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. We even got their GPS coordinates N2°11.662 E102°14.807. I didn’t see a wide selection of cuisine on their menu. Who cares? They are famous for their Laksa!

We ordered 6 bowls cendol and 3 bowls Laksa noodle to share among ourselves. The Laksa was very tasty. The noodle doesn’t have the awful taste of Chinese yellow noodle and the fish balls were very “bouncy”. The food was all at a very reasonable price.

I was glad that the serving portion was small. Hm… I started to understand why they provided us small spoon. This took us longer than usual to complete the Cendol.

We had to complete both our morning breakfasts before 10 am, because we were going to Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum which opens at 10am. Good thing was the location of the museum was nearby and we still have plenty of time.
