Get Rid of Godaddy’s Internal Server Error
This is a very technical post for a very targeted small group of people. Well, who knows, maybe there is a large group of people using Godaddy hosting.

I have been using Godaddy for my web hosting after moving out from HostGator few years back. I have totally forgotten the reason of shifting the hosting. But on Godaddy, I’m facing the new issue of getting the Internal Server Error message. To me, it is exactly the internet version of the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD).
The reason behind of getting the error, from Godaddy’s official explanation, is because you have a corrupted .htaccess. So to repair it, you need to ensure you have uploaded the .htaccess files in ASCII mode (not binary!) and ensure the permission rights is set to 644. Also, check your htaccess to ensure it doesn’t mess with the web hosting PHP setting too much. Godaddy hosting is always very particular with the PHP setting.
Follow this instruction, I would say that you have “much lesser” chances by getting the Internal Server Error message again.
