Don’t Install Google Chrome Frame in IE

By On September 26, 2009 Under Google, Microsoft, Software, Technology

20090924chromeframe When Google released the Chrome Frame for IE two days ago, it definitely is a nice move as Microsoft’s IE has always been lagging behind the web standards. Google Chrome Frame uses Chrome core on rendering web page. So now even you are an IE user, you are able to experience the latest outstanding web performance you have missed for years on IE.

As back to Microsoft, when we still wondering when and how Microsoft will react towards Google’s move. Finally, a Microsoft’s spokesman came out and spoke something about this plug in.

"With Internet Explorer 8, we made significant advancements and updates to make the browser safer for our customers," a Microsoft spokesperson told Ars. "Given the security issues with plugins in general and Google Chrome in particular, Google Chrome Frame running as a plugin has doubled the attach area for malware and malicious scripts. This is not a risk we would recommend our friends and families take." The spokesperson also referred us to the latest phishing and malware data from NSS Labs, the same security company that found IE8 was the most secure browser in August 2009 via two Microsoft-sponsored reports.

All the while, IE’s ActiveX has been one of the most terrible security issues that haunted IE users since the beginning. We have seen Flash plug in all the while popping up some security issues on IE, why didn’t MS come in to solve it if they really concern about security. Report shows IE8 the most secure browser?! They really need to stop kidding us.

IE users should listen to what MS spokesman said for security issue, don’t install Google Chrome Frame on IE. You all should directly abandon using IE and install Chrome!
