Malacca Trip @ Cheng Hoon Teng & Masjid Kampung Kling

Forgive me for the slow update speed. I’m too busy with so many things lately, from my work, new startups, course training, CES projects etc.

Return back to that time, after we had Satay Celup, we then went back to Jonker Street again to visit two of the famous temples in Malacca, Masjid Kampung Kling and Cheng Hoon Teng.

Masjid Kampung Kling was built in 1748. It was more than 250 years old. It is one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia. One thing unique about the mosque is that it was built on square plan. So that is very different from the mosques we saw nowadays.

Malacca Satay Celup @Ban Lee Siang

What is Satay Celup? It is Lok Lok with Satay sauce. I guess this is the simplest explanation I can give. And if you come to Malacca, you should never miss this, this is what all tourists were told.

Seem like there are 2 gangs of supporters, some prefer Capitol while some support Ban Lee Siang. This time we visited Ban Lee Siang, just because the shop is larger and so should have higher opportunity to get empty seats. Capitol Satay Celup is a smaller shop and when we were on the way to Ban Lee Siang, we passed by Capitol and saw people were queuing at the road side.

A Famosa Fort & St. Paul’s Church

After lunch, we wanted to visit the Museum. But none of the museum was opened. So, we could only go up the St. Paul Hill to visit the Church.

There were 3 entrances to the Church. We came from the side near our hotel. The St. Paul’s Church reminded me of Macau’s ruin’s of St. Paul’s. Are they related?

Malacca Noon – Jonker Walk

The weather in those two days changed pretty fast. It was still sunny when we came out of the Heritage Museum and just a while it started to rain.

Malacca Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum

We couldn’t figure out why the entire public museums in Malacca were closed during the Hari Haji holiday. Isn’t that the holiday suppose to bring more “business” more crowd than usual? Fortunately, the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum was opened and it was *aherm* a private museum.

Visitors had already started to gather outside the museum. Luckily, it didn’t turn out to be another long queue like the chicken rice ball shop.

When I was young, every time my family made a trip to Malacca, surely would pass by this road, but we never visit this museum. This museum is now so famous, so many Singaporean visited here because of the MediaCorp TV drama – Little Nyonya. I wonder this year the new TV drama “Together” will bring the fame to which place.

Malacca River Side and D&L’s Nyonya Laksa

On the way walking to the next stop, Donald & Lily’s Nyonya Laksa, we passed by the Malacca river. It was such a peaceful moment. The moment only appeared a while. In later of the day, tourists had been flooding this historical state and spoilt the peacefulness.
