WTF China Made Bluetooth Dongle

By On January 2, 2010 Under Hardware

I heard that China government is going to spend millions dollars to promote the “MADE IN CHINA” branding campaign globally. Sound like a terrific idea, but I’m quite skeptical about it. Doing so won’t give much impact to overseas consumer. We already have all kinds of China made items in our daily life and we all know how China made goods quality really are.

Just this afternoon, I just trying to dismantle a very lousy reception bluetooth dongle I bought last month. It is useless to me, so no harm to further damage it. The photo below shows after dismantling. Not sure you get it or not.

The main reason I bought this because it has an antenna, which most people will think it will give better reception. But turn out the antenna is just a decoration!! It is not connected to the board at all and it is purely plastic. Should I be happy or not, since I had seen more extreme cases than this on internet?

WTF! China has too many geniuses, including the wtf guy who designs this bluetooth dongle. I predict a Kindle alike Ebook device which require user to slide in printed paper to work will appear to market soon.

This is extremely ridiculous. Just like the knock off Nintendo Wii I saw last time. The chasis was 70% empty, they just want to “pretend” the “real thing”. I just hope one day China can produce quality electronic devices as good as Japan. But I don't know whether I'm able to wait until that day. :(

You bought too early, what you are holding is an early prototype

the internal wiring is still waiting for China government's millions of research dollar before the design can be finalised :D

    anyway, thanks for the blog.
