AMD to ship “Fastest overclockable gaming CPU”
AMD has just launched its latest gamer-oriented single-core processor, named the Athlon 64 FX-57.The FX-57 is the first member of AMD’s FX family to be fabricated at 90nm. It’s also the first one to support Intel’s SSE 3 vector processing instruction set.
AMD has stated that it will be involved with the overclocking community. While overclocking the chip will still void the chip warranty, AMD has said that it wants to make the process safer by providing recommendations for heat-dissipation systems and other tools used by overclockers to ensure that the processor remains stable during operation. The FX-57 has a maximum thermal power rating of 104W at its official clock speed.
The new chip is to be priced at $1031 USD, and is available directly through AMD, or at most PC stores.
The unlocked chip means users can self overclocking the clockspeed thru Bios. But the usd1031 price tag really too expensive! The single core chip era is coming to an end soon. AMD last single core chip will be codenamed as FX-59, maybe sometimes next year. So, just two more chips to go. After that, all processor will be designed as dual core based.

Sony products are too much trouble – The Queen
Now we know why the Queen (as in Queen Elizabeth) bought an iPod instead of a Network Walkman: she thinks Sony stuff is too damn hard to use. No, we didn’t stumble upon her secret gadget blog (we’re still looking for that). Turns out she complained about her struggles with certain Sony products during a recent lunch with Sir Howard Stringer, the company’s newly-installed CEO, telling him that she’s had “a lot of trouble with your remote controls. Too many arrows.” If only the poor woman had someone at her disposal who could change channels for her…
