Move Out

By Jiasen Low On July 28, 2004 Comments Off

Moved out from Lakeside and finally settled down at new apartment at Yew Tee. It’s quite a big house for 3 guys. The first day moving in, really took us all our strength to clean up the whole place. :graybigeek:.

Now, we almost get everything fixed, still left the online and cable tv service haven’t completed yet.

VoIP

By Jiasen Low On July 24, 2004 Comments Off

VoIP stands for voice over internet protocol. Mean can use pc to make phone call to pc or real telephone. Especially when I’ve difficulty using IM to talk to others with the NAT problem. Therefore, need to use other external software.

skype – from creator of kazaa. The good things is able to call out thru NAT and firewall.

stanaphone – claim to be the first free telephone service. Can free call to usa, canada, uk, france, switzerland, austria, spain, hk, netherlands, germany and singapore. 100 minutes monthly, the voice transmit is about 1 ~ 2 seconds lag.

The common con of voip is the sound quality won’t be so clear.

Orientation

By Jiasen Low On July 23, 2004 Comments Off

It’s stupid to blame your friends not understanding you. But when the actual fact is you don’t really understand your friends. I lazy to bother all these silly friendships.

These 4 days, I’ve been too tiring for the amcisa orientation camp. Lots of sweet juniors, they’re really too hyper active! Now everyone already knows who “paikia” is. . Cannot use this nick to do bad things anymore.

1st day, pick up and check in hostel
2nd day, ice breaking
3rd day, some activities
4th day, west coast

Orientation always reminds me of school opens soon.

Square

square watermelon

Kawaii watermelon! Although i dont really like water melon, this square watermelon definitely attract me. The reason they make it into square is to conveniently and precisely fit onto refrigerator shelves. Especially, Japan is lack of space.

But cubic fruit comes with a caveat: Each square watermelon costs 10,000 yen, the equivalent of about $82. Regular watermelons in Japan cost from $15 to $25 each.
